A-Parrot to A-Flamingo, Inc., Parrot Rescue.............Brecksville, Ohio
Donating Birds DO YOU NEED TO FIND A NEW HOME FOR YOUR PARROT OR SMALL BIRD ? A-PARROT TO A-FLAMINGO TAKES IN PARROTS, LARGE AND SMALL, ALONG WITH THE SMALLER PET BIRD SPECIES TOO.
WE DO NOT TAKE IN PIGEONS, DOVES, WILD BIRDS, FARM BIRDS, SWANS, TOUCANS. We are so sorry that you need to find another home for your pet bird. First, are you sure you want to go this route? If your parrot is a problem bird, have you tried all you can to modify its behavior? There are lots of websites that give bird training advice, or maybe we can offer you some helpful hints before you make this decision. If it is your final decision to find a rescue organization to place your bird with , we will need detailed info about the bird you need to place with us. We have a turn-in form we can email to you. Our email is: aparrottoaflamingo@danworld.com (If this does not connect from here, please copy the above address and try emailing direct.) Some questions you may have of us.......... How long has A-Parrot been Rescuing Birds? Our staff has previously worked with the Bird Placement Program for over 20 years. Our policies are pretty much the same. A-Parrot is a separate organization now. Our Adoption Policies A-Parrot cares enough about unwanted birds to find them the best homes we can, matching up parrots to people so both are happy with each other. We try to make a good match the first time -- to eliminate the necessity to re-home a bird the second time. Our Adopters still have a strict adoption policy to follow to be considered for a bird in our care. A-Parrot to A-Flamingo Rescue, Inc. is registered as a No-Kill organization. We will not accept birds in questionable health, though. If your bird is feather picking, the owner must give us a copy of a recent vet check noting the bird is free of disease first. Inquire. How do I Get My Bird to A-Parrot? Our location is in Brecksville, Ohio, just outside of Independence, Ohio between Cleveland and Akron., close to I-77 and the Richfield/Brecksville Exit of the Ohio turnpike. We will take in parrots from any State, as long as you are able to bring the bird to us. Can I specify who my parrot is placed With? We will take your suggestions into consideration, but please understand that A-Parrot to A-Flamingo Parrot Rescue's Board of Directors makes all adoption decisions after a parrot is turned over to us. We will do our best to follow the info you supply us to match up your parrot with the Adopter the best we can. Extra supplies you may not need are gratefully accepted too as we may get in other birds badly in need of a proper-size cage, toys, or other miscellaneous supplies. Placement Updates There is NO visiting allowed after you turn your parrot/bird over to A-Parrot. Our rescue birds are temporarily fostered in private homes in the Cleveland area. You cannot contact the Foster Person or Adopter direct. However, you may email Fran and request 1-2 email email updates after drop-off, and she would be glad to do this for you. Returning Your Bird Please really think over your decision if you want to give up your pet to anyone. You can contact me if you need a suggestion on how to work with any of your parrot's quirks before going this route. However, your decision must be final before you drop off your bird with A-Parrot. We will not start interviewing for a new home for your bird until it is released to our Organization. Also, your bird cannot be returned back to you at a later date if change your mind and want it back. We do not board birds, but do reserve the right to charge boarding fees if difficulties arise. Who Gets your Bird? Our parrots are adopted out to experienced parrot owners ONLY. We guarantee to find a loving home for the bird you need to place with A-Parrot. A-Parrot does not warehouse birds in outside facilities or garages. All birds are fostered with us in private homes with parrot owners. We place all birds into loving private homes, with families. or wonderful adults willing to give your parrot/bird all the attention, medical care, love, and interraction it requires. Your Bird's Physical Condition We accept healthy birds only. Small birds in bad feather condition are not accepted. If your parrot is in questionable feather condition, please give us the detail. We may require you to have it vet checked (at your expense) prior to A-Parrot taking it in. Any bird that appears at our door in questionable condition (without the problem being spelled out in your form first) will be turned away. This has rarely happened, but everyone considering bringing a bird to us needs to know this.
